I think I am almost ready to send but in the content field it is saying this:
A plain-text version of this email will be included automatically.
Is that normal? Should I get rid of it? Can I? What does that mean exactly?
Thanks for the help.

Assuming MailChimp works the same as Aweber, that would be for eMail clients that don't support (or have turned off) HTML mail. You want to keep that.

Thank you Dan. Okay, I'm going to do it. First ever mailing list mailing thing. Couldn't have done it without you guys. :cheers

Relax. It's gonna be just fine.
When you get a second, go and set up a welcome email that is sent automatically when someone signs up. Welcome then, say a little about yourself (and your books), and lay out what they can expect from being on your list.

Thanks, I will do that tomorrow.
I think I sent the email okay. And I think I had 2 people unsubscribe when they got it. :shrug

Just wanted to say that I hope you're sticking with it! I also launched my own newsletter via MailChimp this month - a bit stressful hitting that Send button, but the main thing is we got started :cheers

Thanks. 17 subscribers. :cheers

Nice! I found that running a short (week-long) campaign letting people know the perks of signing up really made a difference. But yeah, it just takes time for the word to get out. The main thing is getting into the habit, I think. Best of luck with it!
