LockScreen ADs? Searching the internets results are, in equal measure: Yes, they work! and Don't waste your money!

Is anyone a proponent of LS ADs?

I bought a Kindle recently and I’d say that lockscreen ads are kind of like billboards. They increase my awareness of a book. But so far, they’re poorly targeted. I get nonstop romance lockscreen ads and I don’t read that genre.
