Title: Amazon Author Central - Unsafe?
Post by: Lu Kudzoza on February 19, 2021, 01:24:31 AM
Anyone else seeing this message when they try to go to Amazon Author Central from Microsoft Edge. I'm sure it's a fluke that will be cleaned up. None of my other browsers or McAfee virus are reporting it as unsafe.

This site has been reported as unsafe
Hosted by author.amazon.com
Microsoft recommends you don't continue to this site. It has been reported to Microsoft for containing phishing threats which may try to steal personal or financial information.

MUCH tighter security started with the latest update to Edge.

You will probably notice, also, browsers are becoming persnickety about cookies.

The "upgrades" are the vendor's attempting to ward off regulation with "tighter security and more privacy."

Cheers,
R.C.

FYI - I use Chrome, Edge, Mozilla (Firefox), and Epic for testing. Chrome is "locked down" with no ADs or tracking and limited cookies. Edge is "no cookies." Firefox has no restrictions (default). and Epic is encrypted (obfuscated) through their servers.

I use a locked-down Firefox for everyday browsing.  I use Chrome for sites which play up in locked-down Firefox - but only if I really truly desperately want to visit whatever page it is.

To quote Jessica Simpson, "I don't know what that is but I want it."
