Okay, this is what I need
Title Page
Blank Page
First page of text
Second page of text - start numbering here, with number 2
I'm trying to follow the help directions in word but I just can't seem to make it work.
I should be able to select a different first page and start the numbering at 2, but how do you tell it what first page you want?
Also is there anyway to get rid of the footer that I accidentally clicked on?
Thanks for the help.

You need a section break between the first few pages and the page that you want to be number 1. I refer to this page when I need a refresher on section breaks and headers / footers. http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/sections2007.htm

Thanks so much, I'll check it out later.

One step closer, but I didn't quite get there. I got it to put page number 2 on the page I wanted to start with but that is the only page that got numbered. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Double click on the page number (2), it will put you in the footer. Copy-and-Paste the 2 to the same spot (in the footer) on page three. All the numbers should follow.
IF NOT, you need to check/uncheck the "Same as Previous" section option.
Cheers,

Oh thank you Jan. I will use this when I get ready to submit the manuscript. I added some stuff at the beginning which messed up everything, but then I changed some stuff around and just copy and pasted to a new file. Decided not to put page numbers in until I was completely finished.

Just finished it and I got it to work! Thank you so much Jan.
