Title: Hidden Gems newsletter ads?
Post by: LilyBLily on July 03, 2021, 10:17:25 PM
I just learned that Hidden Gems sends out a newsletter three days during the week and on Sunday for free and discounted romances. Like several other successful suppliers of one service (in this case, reviews), Hidden Gems has branched out to offer other services.

For a book discounted to 99 cents, the price is a mere $10. Has anybody used this ad service?

I've done promo work with them but not he nl stuff. Generally it targets steamy readers though.

If you write romance, put them on your list. The $10 price is pretty sweet and I've had some successful promos with them.

Do you write sweet or steamy?

I got lots of downloads with steamy readers but my read through wasn't great.

Sweet. Ten dollars isn't a lot to risk, so I'll probably do it. Now I have to decide which book to promote and when.

I bought an ad for late July and one for mid-August. They offered a Canada Day discount so the first ad (which I bought on July 4) was only $7. Can't go wrong at that price.

I thought I'd report here that the $7 Hidden Gems ad last month may have accounted for four sales: 4 x .35 = $1.40. Then again, maybe my newsletter peeps, whom I informed of the Kindle Countdown deal, were the ones who rushed to buy during the sale.

I have the remaining ad ($10) coming up in a few days. Can't say I'm expecting much. I promised myself I would advertise in new venues this year, and Red Roses did okay for me once but not with a second title. I was lucky enough to get those three international BookBubs, but otherwise just about every ad has been a failure. The tail on the BB ads has run out, too. Now it's time to try again to get a Google Ad going.
