Title: Fuzzy Librarian
Post by: Marti Talbott on October 03, 2021, 12:20:43 AM
I haven't used this promotion service in a long time, so decided to give it a try. I paid $67 for (historical romance) "The Viking" which is a free 1st in a series of 8 books. It's live today and so far I have 85 downloads on Amazon. This is the book that I think I've over saturated the market with, so not expecting much. Of course, I won't know how it did on the other outlets until tomorrow. One thing I didn't realize I could do until now (I'm so slow) is that I could add a link to the book's Goodreads page where it has a Rating: 3.8 ยท ‎3,225 votes. It has over 1700 rating/reviews on Amazon. So yes, I think I've over saturated the market. It's a perma-free and has been for over 11 years.

Let me know if you want me to post results. I sometimes feel it comes across as bragging instead of just informing.

I'd like to see your results!  I use FL a lot for my free first in series.

I'm always happy to see people getting good results, so brag away. Fussy never did much for me but good luck.

I shouldn't have said that about 'bragging'. It's a throwback from other places I posted in the past. Doesn't apply here, as you guys are always kind to me.

Please, Marti, let us know your results. It helps with our own marketing.

Fussy is really good for free runs but if you've over done it, you might not get enough of a push. But 3,225 votes--damn  Grin
I have your book in my collection. Good luck  :cheers

{edit for clarity

I ran a Fussy Librarian promo recently and was surprised to get at least one download in every single Amazon territorial store.  Yes, even Brazil, Mexico, and Japan, stores that almost always produce zeroes for me during promos.  So they definitely have a wide reach as far as geography goes.

I'll continue to use FL in the future, though probably not again until at least a year later due to risk of oversaturation.

By the way, Marti, I like your The Viking cover a lot.  Very elegant.

Two weeks after I ran the ad, things are looking up. The follow was next to nothing for a week, but last week sales picked up. I'm not sure at this point if I can contribute the sales to the ad, or if it was something else I did, or was reporting that far behind.

I'm certain sites like Bookbub and Freeboksy have associate accounts and track follow though sales, but if they do, we're not privy to that information. Wouldn't we love to know?
