I hope people who read my posts know that I am not bragging, but just sharing marketing ideas.
A few years ago, I ran contests on FB for a book I was currently working on. The contests involved submitting the name of a character. If the name submitted was chosen, the winner would receive a Amazon gift copy when the book was released. My readers loved it and the expense depended on how many contests I ran for each book.
This time, instead of sending me a PM on facebook when submitting a name, they are required to go to my website to submit. First contest is to name of a "fiddler" character in "The Last Wagon. (An Oregon Trail Story)" I'm also posting chapters of this book on my website.
The idea is to expose more people to the books I already have available.
Well, we'll see if this actually works. Something has to, my sales are so far down I'm getting desperate.

In the U.S., be careful that you're following all the rules and regulations regarding contests (and sweepstakes) for all 50 states.

No cost to enter, so I'm not worried about all those regulations, but I'll look them up just in case. Thanks for the advice.
