If this is reality: Google bans eBooks on Shopping Ads (https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/10524536?hl=en)
Why does their tool continue to recommend I add images to my text based search ad?
"Shopping ads are ads that include rich product information, such as a product image, price, and merchant name."
I have lost my ability to be positive about these "big" marketing platforms.

But it says this will occur in 2021. Has it not been available all this time?
I only use Google Ads to advertise a webpage. The webpage brings "readers" or clickers to a list of my books with affiliate links. It doesn't bring in a huge amount of ROI, but it keeps my brand visible throughout the web.

Sorry, my frustration made my note unclear. Their system (bot) told me to add images to my ADs to improve performance. When I added the images my ADs were suspended for being in violation of the policy.

The 2021 advisory seems to apply to what is being advertised, not to whether or not the ad has images in it--or am I just missing something?
Is it possible to ask Google support for clarification of why the ad was rejected? (I should probably know that, but I haven't used Google advertising in a long time.

According to the information I read, buried in Google's help and TOS, you cannot put up an image of your ebook. You can use an image of a digital reader with your book in the reader, but not your cover. Go figure...

Suspended sounds really harsh. I'd contact them and see if you can be reinstated.
Then just put your ebook image in an ereader (or paperback rendition??).

Google doesn't care. Google is not your friend.
I was banned from running Google ads years ago for not "correcting" ads I stopped running.

I haven't been suspended, yet. I stopped all my Google ADs. Not worth the effort.
