Of course, the Hemingway museum was at the top of the to-do list.
The tour was interesting but I felt is relied too much on his personal life and not enough about what he wrote while living in Key West.
On the wall outside the Hemingway compound.

Here's a short video of the famous writing space. For those unfamiliar with the history, Hemingway, went to his studio, above the carriage house, everyday to write. Mornings, until about 2pm, were for creating. The rest of the day was all the other stuff for which he was known to entertain himself. Boxing, Fishing, Drinking and a lot of all.

Oh, how fun! I loved the cats, sleeping everywhere, including his bed. My daughter was reading his short stories the year before... but it's the cats that stole her heart.

The Keys are wonderful.

Key West is next on my bucket list! Maybe 2024 will be the year. Thank you for the info on Hemingway's Museum, as I wasn't aware, and shame on me. I look forward to the visit. My favorites are all of these old typewriters authors use(d). Did you know that Danielle Steele still writes all of her books using her 1946 Olympia that she named Ollie?

Janel, what a beautiful writing space. I've always loved the click-clack of the keys and the little bell for the carriage return.
I hope you get to visit Hemingway's house. Here's a photopost of our trip from 2019: https://vijayabodach.blogspot.com/2019/12/thanksgiving-and-advent.html Enjoy!
