Title: Lamenting the end of KDP and Kobo reports
Post by: alhawke on November 22, 2024, 04:27:10 AM: Both KDP Amazon and Kobo "old" reports were taken down this month. You can only access sales with their new reports system. I've been toggling back to the old version over the past year and I hate the new sales pages. How about you guys?

Post by: Jeff Tanyard on November 22, 2024, 08:49:15 AM: I prefer the old KDP reports, but I made the switch to the new one anyway so as to acclimate myself to it. I knew it was only a matter of time before they phased out the old one.

As for Kobo, I've learned to like the new reporting. And I really like seeing the Kobo Plus numbers right there on the dashboard instead of having to download a sales spreadsheet like before.

But the international map is gone.

It's super hard to figure out international sales now on Kobo AND KDP. Please let me know if any of you find a way to toggle this faster. The only way I can figure it out is to hit "deselect" and then scroll down to the country. Same with KDP's intl market function.

That one has gotten some noobs all excited about how much money they'll be making, and it turns out it isn't all that accurate for them. Oh, well. They'll learn. Or not.

I find the KDP estimated is within a dollar of what bookreport reports. It's pretty accurate. The only variation you could expect is if the KU rate changes a lot for that month.
