Title: FB Ad question ... kind of basic, I think.
Post by: The Bass Bagwhan on November 07, 2025, 08:43:21 AM
I started a couple of ads for November for two different books, thus two different campaigns. I've been doing FB ads for a few years now but I'm no "power user" I keep things simple.
One ad is showing me a "cost per click" while the other is "cost per landing page view" and I can't figure out what I must have done differently to prompt this, or even if it makes a difference anyway although the latter seems more expensive.
Mind you, the GUI is such these days that you have to turn off all the damn AI and automated "suggestions" by FB to just stick to the tried and true, so I might have missed something... any ideas?

Thanks!

I do read David Gaughran emails and he talks lots about Facebook Ads and how to make the most of them. You could check out his videos. This is his latest link:

But I have no idea if it will help you.

It's so like corporate America to impose a system that's less effective--even on their own ads. And I was just thinking about maybe trying FB ads again. I won't bore you with why, but I can't access my old ads anymore, so the workarounds won't work for me.

Thanks for this, I think I bought one of DG's books way back when I started. I never reuse old ads although I sometimes use saved audiences. There's always some new tweak or extra cost-causing "button" in the ads GUI and starting from scratch is the best way to reveal these. Plus it seems quicker than trying to revive old copy and check it's still relevant.
