Title: Newsletter Smashword coupons as incentive?

I have a small catalog of short stories and novellas (erotica mostly if that matters) and I keep meaning to setup a newsletter. However, I keep running into the same issue, I start writing a short story to give away as an incentive (and I keep misspelling insentive wth) and the short story turns into a longer story, possibly with sequel potential and I can't just give it away... So I release another book, delaying my other planned books and I still don't have a newsletter.

So, I was wondering if anyone had used Smashword coupons to give away books as an incentive for signing up to a newsletter?

Because at this point my only other options are no incentive or strict writing discipline to jam out that short story... I'm not optimistic on the discipline option.

Subscribers to our newsletter actually get each issue of our Quarterly magazine for free via a Smashwords coupon. The coupon code is included in the newsletter issue that coincides with the magazine's release.
