I learned Blender in order to get what I wanted. The results were awesome but the learning curve to get there was significant.

Thanks, friends. I appreciate the pointers!

I did see a book cover recently with the ship from Space 1999 on the front. Someone must have got that from a stock site not knowing where it came from.

I license 3D models from cgtrader, pose them in Blender, render them with lighting and new textures, etc, and then put them in front of a background image or ten.

I still have a couple of open slots in February!

I get mine from

https://depositphotos.com
and
https://www.dreamstime.com/

Both have a good selection, but I always google the image to see if it's been used by another publisher... Some images end up being used many times.

Art, Covers & Designs [Public] / Where can I purchase space ship illustrations?

Hi All.

I'm looking for illustrations of space ships for use in cover art. Vectors or images are preferred. I'm finding there's an extremely limited selection on most of the stock photo sites.

If you have any resources, stores, or sites you can point me to, I'd be grateful. If push comes to shove I can learn how to use Blender and build out some models, but I'd rather purchase something premade if I can.

At this point, I'm not looking to hire an illustrator to paint a custom cover. I just need ships! :)

Thanks!

Editors & Proofreaders [Public] / Stylistic editing and proofreading

Thanks for visiting my page!

I offer a combination of stylistic editing and proofreading. In addition to proofreading, I'll rework awkward phrasing and improve flow, if needed. I don't generally correct for repetition, but I will flag repetitive words, phrases and sentence structure if I notice them.

This a purely grammatical edit, so no feedback on the story will be given. I can work with either American or British English, but I won't change the spelling of one to the other.

I don't guarantee I'll find all the errors, but I will find the majority of them. Changes will be made using Track Changes.

Pricing starts at USD .005/word for one pass. Rate and turnaround time will be confirmed after I see the sample. Smaller jobs like single chapters are fine, but there'll be a $20 minimum on all orders. Half of the order must be paid before I start and the other half must be paid upon delivery of the edited ms. Invoicing will be done through Paypal only.

If interested, please email me your genre, approx. word count, and a roughly 750 word sample from the middle of the book. I'll edit the sample for free, so we can both see whether or not we'll make a good fit. I have a heavy hand, which I know isn't for everyone.

Preferred genres are romance, cozies, and mysteries. I don't edit LGBT, menage, or love triangles. Thank you!
