Free Book promo when KU renews

I wanted to do a free book promo to coincide with a book release. I wanted the promo to run from Feb 22nd to Feb 26th.

It's important because I scheduled some promos and I have ENT on the 24th (I thought it was on the 25th and was freaking out, but it's the 24th, not so bad).

I just realized that my KU term ends on Feb 24th, meaning that I can't schedule a free book promo for the 25th yet. Has this happened to anyone? Do you think I'll be able to schedule a free promo for the 25th and 26th on time?

Schedule what you can through your current term.

Email KDP support to see if they can set it up for you.

If not, I'd be up at midnight to schedule it ASAP in your term and see if that will work.

I was going to update this.

I got a reply from KDP that the first day I can schedule is the second day in my term, meaning that I can have the 26th free, but not the 25th. It also means that you can't have a 10-day promo by combining two KU periods. You could have a 5-day promo, then one day paid, then another promo.

It's fine because my ENT is on the 24th.

What an oversight! I had completely forgotten that it was my renewal term. I'll be more careful if I ever do a free promo again, and make sure I'm scheduling it within my KU period, not overlapping two periods.
