Who do you guys use for covers?

Thanks to a WS member for turning me onto Miblart, but who do the rest of you guys use? Who, in particular, might be good for a legal thriller sequel, which is what I need the cover for? Thanks.

I'd check out Damon Za for that genre. They're pricey, but might get you something really fantastic for your book category (DamonZa did all my sci fi covers). For fantasy, I love my super talented fantasy artist at Brosedesignz.

Look inside various books in your genre--check the sample--to see if cover artists are credited. There are far less pricey cover artists around. (I would love to afford a DamonZa cover if I wrote in that genre.)

The Killion Group has been around for years and is trustworthy. Pricing:
Front Cover: $135.00
Spine and back addition for print: $75.00
Pre-Made Book Cover: $45-$85

So for a print book and ebook combo, it would be $210.

Compare to:
https://www.streetlightgraphics.com pricing is more like $449--not an unusual price. Never worked with them.

https://www.goonwrite.com/index.htm another possibility to look at. $275-$450 --has a good rep.

Always look at multiple companies' portfolios.

Thanks A.L. Yeah, Damonza has the reputation for sure, but like you said "pricey."

Thanks, LilyBLily, and thanks for the links. I really liked a lot of the thriller covers at the Killion Group. I'll check into them further. They're my price range too. Thanks.

I'm debating between MIBLART and Killion. I like the former's as many revisions as you need and no payment till you're satisfied, but I like Killion's portfolio better.

Jennifer at Acapella Books has done several for me and her $200 covers art design which she applies to all formats. I haven't used her for about a year, so the pricing may have changed, but she'll work with you on multiple ideas and fine-tuning.

She did this one for a retitled book.

I looked at Miblart and it was coy about pricing. I hate that. Just please tell me up front.

Here are some others I've looked at recently:

https://glowingmoondesigns.com/

https://www.llewellendesigns.com

https://www.derangeddoctordesign.com  $420 for ebook and print

https://theminism.wixsite.com/portfolio/portfolio-1  Fantasy art with a manga edge.

GetCovers.com

https://www.wickedsmartdesigns.com/

An awful lot of what I've seen lately just screams AI and looks very uncanny valley.

Thanks a lot, LilyBLily. More places to look at. And I hear you about the AI covers. Not for me.

I used Damonza for my first three, but they're priced out of my budget now.

Plus, I really hated the first 'Silver Enigma' cover. It had no connection to the book, but I was a rookie author and went with their design.

My last few covers have been by Mike Zaharbian (mike@zamajk.com). He did the new 'Silver Enigma' cover, plus 'Alert Status One,' my novella 'The Drive', and the next in the ISC Fleet Series, too.

He's also done some ad graphics for me which have been productive.

Great stuff, reasonably priced, easy to work with.

Thanks Rock. I did the same thing you did with the first cover. Then I re-did it myself years later. I went to his site. Great covers but exclusively sci-fi it seemed. I'm doing a legal thriller.

I am working with Tom Edwards nowadays and am very happy with the results. Tom is not cheap, but it is good work.
