We've spoken about this stuff before. I did some research because I'm considering translating a book or two into a foreign language. I'm looking for an idea of cost and any successes gleamed from you. I've held back with audio due to cost and complaints about audible--might return to audio. But what about book translating in 2022?
Is it too expensive? How much am I looking at for 80k words (done right)? From what I'm reading, the ROI doesn't appear worth it without a major blockbuster.
What about Babel? Is using their service at low cost but sharing royalties worth it? I heard there's issues with royalty returns, sometimes taking months? Advantage here is I could look into multiple languages.
Kobo recommends a translator service too where you can get 10% off as a Kobo author.
