I've noticed a lot of facebook book ads that have the link, that takes the user to where the book is offered, as just a text link. Other ads have the link embedded in the image itself. The second version is definitely the superior version. Why do people use the text link? Is it a lack of knowing how to embed the link into the image? Just wondering?

Speaking just for myself, as far as I know that's how the ads are set up. You put in a URL and you upload a visual as separate pieces of the ad setup, and there's no way to embed the URL in the visual--that I know of.

An author at Kboards is asking for help regarding her copy for this ad:

The image contains a link to the Amazon listing. So it can be done.
Facebook's help pages for ads are maddeningly unhelpful:

Best I can tell, it's the 1080x1080 photo ads that can have a link attached to the photo.

The Facebook ads I'm running are all 1200 x 628, as everyone says they "must" be. I did not see an option for linking the photo. Next time I create a FB ad (which might be when hell freezes over), I'll check out the possibility of linking.

In a regular ad, the picture has to have a link.
For a boosted post, you might not need the picture to be a link, but you can make it a link.
You can have a text link and a link in the picture, as well.

is there somewhere that explains or shows all that? Seems like people are confused about the mechanics of it.
