Solution to Mailerlite Problem?
« on: October 26, 2018, 07:56:17 AM »
I've cut my subscriber list to 3,000, but I have the 1,001-2,500 plan at Mailerlite. This allows me to not waste money sending to subscribers who rarely open the newsletters.

However, it's difficult to weed out just the right amount of subscribers so that my mailing goes to almost 2,500 recipients. I typically exclude anyone who's been inactive for x days. I play around with x to get close to 2,500, but it's tricky because you might be sending to 2,400 subscribers, but use 2,600 unique subscribers in the last thirty days. You have to have tried this to understand.

You can't just tell ML to send to the first 2,500 unique subscribers.

In any case, has anyone dealt with this issue and found a good way to deal with it.

I sort of get what you mean. I think they tell you how many over you are when they tell you your limit has been reached. When I had you problem I went and deleted subs in lots of fifty each until it would let the newsletter go through. (They not actually deleted from the subscriber base, just the from the list receiving the newsletter.

I used to have over 15,000 subs, determined 11,000 were worthless Instafreebie freebie hunters and trimmed to list to 4900. My open and click rate went through the roof.

Ah, I didn't think of individually deleting subscribers. Thanks. Here's how I could do it next time:

1. Create a group, based on excluding non-responders, until you have, say 2,450 in the group
2. Choose to send to that group, at which point ML will say, "Sorry, this will take you to 2,565 unique subscribers"
3. Go back to that group and delete 65 subscribers from it.
4. Choose to send to that group.

I'm also thinking that to remove the need for step 2, I will only send out every 31 days (because the unique subscribers restriction is based on the last 30 days).

Yes, that's what I did, too.
