Check or don't check VAT box for AMS UK (I'm in the US)

I know we covered this before but I couldn't find the thread.  I got an email from AMS UK telling me how to do an ad there, which was basically everything I already knew, which never worked before, but I tried it, and I'm in.  It's a winter miracle, in the Northern Hemisphere that is.  Just need to set up payment method but I don't remember what to do about the VAT box.  Thanks for the help.

If you don't tick it, you don't need to enter a number.

They did eventually stop me adding new adverts until I ticked it and entered my aussie tax number (I think it was my ABN, from memory). Bear in mind the AU government requires overseas sites to charge me 10% sales tax and send the amount to the aussie tax office.

If that doesn't apply where you are, perhaps you don't need to enter anything.

I'm in the US. I didn't tick it. Never had an issue since.
