Amazon reviews are at least a week behind
« on: September 04, 2020, 11:46:01 PM »
It says there is a problem on Amazon central, and I believe it. A review posted on The Viking on Aug. 29 just showed up today.

I swear, they are so busy with other project, it just gets worse and worse for books. It's starting to look as bad as Goodreads.

I feel your pain. I'm still trying to get enough reviews on my new book to pay for promotions.

That's odd. I posted a review of a book I had read (I do not write in that genre) on August 30 and the notification came the next day. I admit that is slower than usual, but it's not a huge delay.

That's good to hear.

Amazon seems to have caught up. I just posted a review (for a book in a genre in which I do not write) and got the confirming email less than half an hour later.

Glad to hear it. Has it shown up under the book yet?

Has anyone noticed a big increase in the number of ratings and reviews lately? I've seen mine gathering reviews like nobody's business, and I'm not really doing anything different.

I'm assuming people with Kindles are selecting a star rating when they finish the book, if they no longer have to write a review as well. Either that, or maybe Amazon has removed the $50/year requirement?

Nope. I haven't had a new rating or review in forever. But mostly I replied to ask about Silver Enigma. ?

Huge increase in ratings, but reviews themselves stopped dead on the 25th August. I don't think I've had an actual review since then on any book.

I just checked BR and my last actual review was 20 days ago.

Something definitely changed.
Genres: Space Opera/Fantasy/Cyberpunk, with elements of LitRPG and GameLit, with a touch of the Supernatural. Also Spiritual and Games.
