I'm not sure this is new, but it's the first time I've seen it. (Probably not new then.) I'm having a very good month on Apple via D2D so I went looking at my books on Apple (which got stuck by the way) and wound up here, eventually. I think for my next book I will try uploading directly to Apple, maybe upload the Book 1 to my WIP there as well, get the preview sample in there.

I haven't tried applying to be an affiliate yet, or getting any of their badges, but I'm interested in any tips/experiences people have if you are willing to share.
