An oldie but a goodie...
« on: March 10, 2021, 03:30:35 AM »
After going wide with marginal (early) return, I am seeking opinions:

Smashwords, worth the effort or another time suck? (Formatting to meet the requirements is a PIA, but doable.)

eBooks.com, is there an ROI for the effort? (I can use Lulu to get into the eBook market.)

Cheers,
R.C.

If you can get it passed trough their formatting requirements, it won't hurt. They have sales about 2x/yr through their Smashwords store. I don't sell a lot through them, but I get a bite now and then usually during their sales.

I use Vellum and they always take my book without a problem. But if my book didn't publish easily, then ... :icon_question:

I usually upload ebooks to Smashwords first as if they get through the vetting there the formatting is probably ok.
For reasons of incurable laziness I only use Smashwords for publishing wide. I actually sell some books on their own site too.
