Author Topic: Why did my paperback sell through Ingram on Zon when I'm selling it direct?  (Read 2517 times)

Has this happened to you before?

I sell my books through Ingram AND Amazon. Just had a paperback sell on Zon (through an AMS ad, yea) but got the royalty through Ingram on their report, not on Amazon. This is bad because my royalties are 1/2 as good with Ingram as Amazon direct. Why is this happening? Did I set something wrong? My paperback is not exclusive through Ingram.

So you published via Ingram and Amazon with two different IBSN numbers? Just trying to understand. I don't have an answer for you. You can't tell where your Ingram sales went. (Or if you can, I would love to know how.) I would ask Amazon where your royalty is. Maybe you sold one on Ingram somewhere else the same day and it is just a coincidence.

Could be coincidence, but I think I've seen it happen similarly before. To be honest, I don't sell a lot of paperbacks (especially during covid). This one I can track because I had gotten a sale through my AMS ad. Within 48hrs, the sale showed up on Ingram, not Amazon. So far over the last few days, there have been no paperback sales for that book on Amazon. So, it is an indirect tracking, but the correlation is pretty high. And it makes me wonder ...

No, ISBN is the same.
