What do you use for image hosting for forum posts?
« on: October 19, 2018, 10:37:45 PM »
I used to use dropbox public folder to upload images for forum posts, but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
Is there a way to use GDrive? Or something else convenient?

You can attach to the bottom of posts.

Unfortunately, the mod which allows for putting attached images in specific places in a post, had undesirable side effects and had to be removed.

So limited to putting attachments on the end of the post.
Genres: Space Opera/Fantasy/Cyberpunk, with elements of LitRPG and GameLit, with a touch of the Supernatural. Also Spiritual and Games.

OK Thanks, I tried that now and it works. Image gets resized a bit - but I don't suppose there's any way to avoid that.

Personally, I upload them to my website, but you can upload them to twitter or instagram. I suggest setting up a free wordpress site even if you don't plan to blog. They have some great image tools.

I've actually been uploading them to my website as well, but I wondered if there was a better solution :)  I could use my wordpress blog, that's a good idea.

I use Facebook. Post the image with the audience set to "Only me." Open it, right-click on the image, choose "Open image in new tab." Use the new tab's URL.

Nice trick! I put something on twitter today to show here and just told twitter people to ignore it. I like your solution a lot more - although I will probably set up an IG account or imgur

I use Postimage.org. It's free, can re-size images and has a variety of links for websites, forums, etc.

TinyPic. Or imgur. I gave up on Photobucket because it was slow and I wasn't going to pay to put up a random picture every now and again. TinyPic is owned by them, but so far works better uploading and no issues otherwise.
I write various flavors of speculative fiction. This is my main pen name.
