Kindle ebook missing.
« on: October 28, 2018, 12:15:05 AM »
Gone  :smilie_zauber:...Have any of yours?

Just one of my has, the others are fine.

My bookshelf is showing both the paperback and Kindle ebook are live on .com (Scream saver) but when I click on the US link to my book it only shows paperback available.
Of course I sent a message to zon, and then another message adding the bits I missed on the first but then I had an idea! So I sent yet another message (I didn't have much to do this morning :icon_mrgreen:) telling them that I was going to have a go at resolving the problem myself. So I re-published the ebook. Got back from the shops (trying to make this story interesting) five hours later and I had the email telling me my ebook was now live...whooop!

But, yep, you guessed it, it's showing as live but when I click on it, no joy, it's still only showing the paperback is available, mostly! :n2Str17: I tried clicking on my book while viewing some threads on here and there it was back, so I tried again, just to be sure, and then it's gone again  :icon_think:
Anyhow...All other stores are working including .co.uk which I also had a problem with, re-publishing seems to have worked for the UK store.

So, have you experienced problems with any of your ebooks today?
(Please feel free to expand on your post, where possible, continuing to make this thread as exciting as I have so far grint)
I await your reply with anticipation...

EDIT : Typical  :rant...Just clicked the book after posting, three times, and it's worked every blooming time...Err, I mean great, but it's STILL not displaying the ebook format when I click on it from my bookshelf  :icon_rolleyes:  :shrug

Lots of people having this problem, apparently. It seems to be affecting books published in August or September. Republishing usually fixes it, but not always, as you've discovered. Pretty annoying. Amazon is so broken these days.

Both of mine are missing. Thanks, Amazon.

It's happening to one of my books, published in August.  Only missing in the .com store.  I tried repubbing it early yesterday morning and it's now stuck in publishing, and still not showing up in the store  :icon_sad:

Emailed Amazon twice now, but they haven't yet replied. Seems like a fairly major glitch, but hopefully it gets sorted soon.

Anyone had this and had it resolved yet? I've had no reply to my support request sent through their KDP dashboard. Books are still gone on the .com store.

None of mine are missing as far as I can tell, but one is displaying the wrong price.  It's correct on my dashboard, just not on the product page.  I haven't tinkered with the price of that book in three weeks.    :Hqn66ku:

I hit "publish" just now without changing anything.  We'll see if that fixes it.

Those who've fixed this say to just keep republishing until it works.

So since KDP still hadn't replied, I did the ole repub thing. The changes weren't live when KDP got back to me with a nice email where the oh-so-helpful rep completely misunderstood my complaint and told me that of course he could find my books in the store.

Coincidentally the books are back now even though the repubs didn't go through yet.

I got a reply, finally, from KDP last night. They told me there was no problem, and that I must not be able to see my book because I'm looking from outside the states  :HB  They told me they'd send me a screenshot to prove the same, but the screenshot never came.

I've been publishing on Amazon since 2015.  I know whether my book is for sale or not - and the extreme drop in my rankings agrees with me.

I had republished, seeing as others had said it might help. Although it took much longer than usual to go through the process, it looks like it's unstuck something.  The book is for sale again in the store since sometime last night.  Funnily enough, it's still showing as unavailable when you click on the book's series page.

I'm not going to contact them again as I got absolutely no help.  I'll be republishing it again soon anyway, as the next book in the series will be coming out and I want to change the back matter.  I must say, though, it gets a little bit disheartening when you can't even get someone to understand your problem, let alone help  :shrug They clearly know this is happening, because I've heard of many authors being affected.

That was pretty much the exact response I got.

Thank you so much for contacting us, it was a pleasure assisting you today.

I checked your titles "Dead Gods" and "Blood Eye" and I can confirm that it does appear to be for sale on Amazon.

I did a search on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk using the name of the titles and it does come up in search results as well. I have included links below to the search results on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk and links to your books listing on these marketplaces for your reference:
...
Please bear in mind that when viewing product pages, keep in mind that the availability of titles in the Kindle Store may vary based on your home country or region. You can see details about the current availability of your title by hovering on your title’s status and clicking on “See title availability details,” which will open an Availability Report.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know as we would be more than glad to assist you.

We appreciate your support request and I wish you a wonderful day further.

You're not alone, Tonyonline. Several of my titles have gone missing too!
I'm currently moving several of my titles wide and I noticed that a couple of my titles had vanished.
I'm hitting re-publish and then we'll see what will happen. (Fingers crossed)
