The perfect way to bring in the new year....

"The first lesson of economics is scarcity: there is never enough of anything to fully satisfy all those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics." - Thomas Sowell

"The State is an institution run by gangs of murderers, plunderers and thieves, surrounded by willing executioners, propagandists, sycophants, crooks, liars, clowns, charlatans, dupes and useful idiots -- an institution that dirties and taints everything it touches." - Hans Hoppe

"Virtue is more to be feared than vice, because its excesses are not subject to the regulation of conscience." - Adam Smith

Nothing that requires the labor of others is a basic human right.

I keep a stiff upper lip and shoot from the hip. - AC/DC

Barbecue is more a new year's day than new year's eve thing here, but that looks pretty good.

Happy New Year!

I hope it's a good one for everyone.    :cheers

It's before noon in the UK and close to freezing outside, but now I want barbecued steak.

Happy New Year writers.
It's quite chilly here - I didn't realise how chilly until I went up to feed my son's cats and they went out when I opened the front door and then 2 minutes later came in through the cat-door.
Just about to go for a walk, I think I'll have to dig out my gloves.

Nice fireworks, Cora. My neighbors do a lot of fireworks, too, but I couldn't go outside to see them. My dog gets too frightened even though I gave him a chill pill.

Wishing everyone their best year ever!

Happy New Year from Tucson, AZ.

We got 2 inches/5 cm of snow last night, so the desert is a winter wonderland, and there's skiing up on Mount Lemmon.

And my first Krimi (Crime Thriller) in German translation is #1 Free in all the Kindle .de store. Woohoo! (Let's hope it kick-starts the series.)
