I've read a couple of positive reviews of the new Series Promotion offered by Freebooksy.

It seems a little pricy, $150 US, but might be something to jump start a lagging series.

Freebooksy Series Promotion, yea or nay?

Cheers,
R.C.

I wouldn't do it because mine are trilogies and my readthrough on newsletter downloads has always been low. It would be tough to recover the costs ($200 for romance).  Could they boost the book into the top 100 overall and top 100 in sub categories to pick up extra visibility? Unknown. If I had a long series with good read through I would consider it. The people at Freebooksy have always been great to work with.

I had a very successful free promo with them. If you do the series promo, R.C., please let us know if you were happy with it.

It might be like their featured 99c deal promo which I've done a couple times with some success. That one is the 99c feature that includes advertising with their free newsletter.

The question is whether it's better to just stick with the lower cost standard free promo, right? Their standard promo drives sales to the subsequent books anyway ??

Just got an my daily email from them. The series feature is featured at the top, so that's a bit of extra publicity for the ad too.

I signed up for a promotion of my series to be run on 11/21. If they appove it, I'll let you know how it goes. The book was in Amazon's top 100 free mysteries for quite some time, but the other books in the series are down to a trickle. I have to make sure the "also by" list in the permafree #1 is up to date. It's probably a good time to lower the prices of the paid books too. At $3.99, it might be a putoff.

The promotion ran today. It's 6:10 PM EST now and already there have been 1048 downloads of the freebie and 293 purchases of paid books. Those are Amazon numbers. The series is wide. The promotion has already more than paid for itself.

That's great!

I discovered Freebooksy will run a promo on shorter works (e.g. my permafree novella), but when I tried to snaffle a spot which is available in 3 days time they pointed out that I have a 99c promo with Bargainbooksy in 2 days time. (Although their rules only say the same book can't repeat, not different books.)

I think this is the company that sometimes emails me to say they ran one of my books in a promo, free, presumably to fill an empty spot. Always nice when that happens!

Odd. The 293 purchase count has been reduced to 122, which still puts me in the black, but I wonder where those other sales went.
