Just got this message from Facebook. No idea what I'm supposed to have done.  :icon_rolleyes: Do you think it's for real? Worried to click on the link in case it's bogus.

I did a search and found this link on reddit. Not sure if it will help.

I don't know, but it sounds phishy to me.

If you believe this is a misunderstanding, we kindly ask you to submit a complaint so we can review it before removing the page from Facebook.

That wording seems suspect.  You have to submit a "complaint"?  That seems odd.  Seems like they would give you an appeal option or something along those lines.  But asking you to file a "complaint" strikes me as odd.

That would be a red flag for me since it is not immediately recognizable as a Facebook URL.

If you're concerned, I would find a way to contact Facebook without using that link to see if there is a problem.

Thanks.
A friend sent me a link to a post on Facebook, so I replied with the copied text to warn him that I might not be on Facebook much longer. It came up with some sort of ad for URL shorteners. So I think it must be some sort of scam.  :evil2:

Isn't ".is" the URL country code for Iceland?  Facebook's HQ is in California, isn't it?

Yes, but that doesn't matter.  URL shorteners often use country codes to help keep them short.  Bit.ly used to be a popular one and they used Libya's country code.  So, that in and of itself isn't necessarily a warning sign.

But, Facebook uses fb.me as their URL shortener so the fact it's not an fb.me URL is a red flag.

I've received it, and sent them along to '[email protected]'

It's phishing and it has been around awhile: TrendMicro

I received several--all supposedly from people with Polish names--with the same threats soon after I paid for a Facebook ad. I assume it's a bot scraping Facebook ads. It's completely phony and nothing to worry about. Just report it, delete it, etc.

It's not from Facebook at all.

It's just another phish scheme.

Delete and ignore.
Genres: Space Opera/Fantasy/Cyberpunk, with elements of LitRPG and GameLit, with a touch of the Supernatural. Also Spiritual and Games.
