Amazon Endure Font
« on: July 22, 2025, 10:58:36 PM »
Just wondering... What are the Collective's thoughts on the new Amazon Endure font?

Here are two links for reference: KDP Community  and the Template/Download Page

I'm giving it a go, using 11.5 height and 1.25 spacing... I'm not yet sold on the change.

Thoughts?

Those of using Vellum won't be able to try it out until Vellum supports it.

It seems as if a lot of experimentation would be necessary to figure out the optimum settings. After all, we can already manipulate a lot of things to get more words per page. The trick is finding the settings that do that without sacrificing readability.

It would be nice if they would show an image of what the font looks like so you can see it before deciding whether or not to download and install it.

Thanks.  I'll be taking a pass on that one.  It's not a very attractive font.  I'm sure one could find nicer fonts that save an equivalent amount of space.

UPDATE - After three days of intense editing and re-writes, the conclusion is positive.  The font has less eye strain. I'm sticking with it, for now...

If it looks good on my ereader, I'll publish with the font.

I'm editing a book using the font to "get a feel."  Initially, I was a pass. After a dozen pages, there's no eye fatigue. It's growing on me...
