Beware of this sophisticated scam

No, I didn't get scammed. But I can imagine some people might be tempted, so beware of this and similar "deals" that will likely pop up in the US too.

That article showed two people that are clearly AI generated. Another popular scam, even worse, is impersonating someone OR a company.

Seems I'm at about 10 book club/promotion/marketers emails per day now. I need an AI assistant to sift through all of it. And, I've said in earlier posts, I really feel like one day I'm going to miss out on a real opportunity tossing a legit email in the junk folder.

I recently got a long and very flattering email about one of my books although the language was slightly odd. I thought, "Fair enough, someone's used AI to compose the email."
Then it devolved into a sales pitch for promoting that book. (Sigh) Oh well, I felt good for a brief moment...

I guess that advantage of low sales is that even the scammers don't notice me.
