After writing four series following the MacGreagor Clan through the Viking years up to WWI, I switched to mysteries. Boredom, mostly. Anyway, it's been a struggle getting my fans to switch with me. One reader said if it's not about the MacGreagors she doesn't want to hear from me. Okay, I deleted her from my mailing list.
I released The Kings of the Seven Bells, my first attempt at fantasy on Sunday. It will likely be my only attempt as building a world was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Changing genre is just like starting over.
Marketing - that's the problem. I have two AMS ads that have just started running. I can't be sure, but none of my over 3000 followers on Bookbub have picked it up. But then, they are geared toward free books. So far, I've sold 15 on Amazon and 2 through D2D, so that would be Apple or Nook. Of course, no reviews yet. I sent out over 700 emails in my newsletter.
