50+ words a day...no matter what!
« on: October 02, 2018, 10:14:17 AM »
This is my new motto.  No more excuses!  No matter how busy I am, opening my WIP and typing 50 words is definitely possible.

Of course, once we're writing...there's no maximum amount.  50 words or 5,000+ is fine.  Just do it everyday!  No more excuses!!!  LOL :haironfire

Off to write.  Be back later. :mhk9U91:

I should be in one of the multiple K a day threads, but lately, this has been more my speed. So count me in.

Okay.  I just wrote fifty words for today, plus some extra words you maybe might consider a bonus.  So . . . what do I win?

I'm writing a Halloween-themed short story and I sailed through the first 6,000 words (over several days, I hasten to add) but the ending has me stuck. I've re-written those last 150 words at least four times. Does that count?

Only 500 today. But I did spend a significant amount of time working on a cover, so I'm not feeling too guilty.

Got up early and decided to open WIP for my 50 words.  Got another 1k done!  This seems to be working for me, but I have no idea if I'll finish this book before Halloween.  I hope so.

1,100 so far. Will likely do some more before bed. Maybe. Probably not.

I'm actually sitting here researching self-discipline, since I seem to have lost mine. I should be writing about 3K a day.  :icon_cry:

Thanks.  I'm working on two WIPs at the same time.  The space opera and this other one.  I work every day on the space opera but I'm using the other one as my 50 words or better a day project.

My current avatar is one of our office cats.  The picture is from when he was still outside, showing up every day for supper.  He's inside now.

I did it! I wrote 50 words today which is more than I've done any day this week (I actually got close to 200 but didn't like most of what I had written and deleted it).

Okay, so I've decided it's time to start holding myself accountable, and I don't want to get ahead of myself with the lofty goals of the 500 words a day thread, so I'm in. 50+ words EVERYDAY. Shouldn't be too hard should it? (Says she about to fire up the netflix  :icon_rolleyes:)

I managed to get 1120 words done today (yay me!) and in an ideal world I'd write another 880 when I go to bed...but it ain't gonna happen  grint

I doubled up and wrote 100 words.

Still have to figure out the how of the death scene because, evidently, impaling someone on a candlestick won't work.

I was just hitting stride at 2000 a day and of course the computer decides to act weird.

Some time spent researching the cloning of disks was a diversion I didn't need. But, back up to near ludicrous speed now!

I kicked some arse in Mario Kart though, does having to re-input the wifi password into the wii u count towards my total? :shrug

Last month my goal was to open my WIP every day. I didn't quite make that  :icon_redface:
This month I set my goal to open my WIP every day AND write at least one sentence AND post my daily effort on a FB group I'm in.  So far I've managed just over 1000 words EVERY SINGLE DAY

Of course it's 11pm and I haven't started yet today, but there's always time...

Managed to get 1784 words done today despite a bit of a migraine. Also did some more plot refinements, and realised the small scene I wrote yesterday in an entirely different series is related to this current one, and looks like it might be a spin off that happens concurrently with this one. Excited about that  grint

Hoping to get some more written later, but posting now in case I don't. I think posting my word count publicly is helping me to not procrastinate so much,  hopefully I can keep it up!

I managed 2411 words before bed last night. More than I've managed in a single day for a long, long time. So very close to finishing this WIP.
Then I woke up this morning with the urge to rewrite a blurb. I'm counting that 116 words in today's writing total.
